onomatopoeia

/ˌɒnə(ʊ)matəˈpiːə/

‘onomatopoeia’ is an interactive single in which the listener can move around the screen to find image and sounds in every corner of a 360-degree virtual reality.

It was created by the Peruvian Berlin-based experimental musician Ale Hop and the filmmaker Lorena García in 3D Sound (ambisonics) and Virtual Reality.

In ‘onomatopoeia’ Ale Hop presents us with a disembodied, ethereal space, in which the form of the piece is constructed as the sound design of a film, with sounding words floating around the spectrum and resounding their metatextuality The time ticks but we stay still.
